Do any instructions come with this widget? Like where the php and swf files are supposed to go?

    • shailan Mar 9, 2010

Just install it through the wordpress add new plugin interface. Choose upload and then select the zip file you downloaded. After you activate the plugin you will see the countdown widget on your widgets panel.

    Hello Shailan,
    cool plugin!

    Some small suggestion :
    - remove the hardcoded UNTIL
    - make the days hrs … changeable so you can use them in different languages.

    Grtz

Hey Shailan. I installed this plugin on my class site to countdown towards graduation. Even though graduation is in 2013 it says it’s in 100 some odd days. Why is that?

Hello Alex, this is because of the day limit is 999. You have more than 1100 days so it won’t show up. I am working on a fix now. Hopefully with the next release this will be fixed.

Hey Matt, great work been searching everywhere for a widget to work and be simple to adjust!

Would be nice to set choose which unit are displayed, I use it on a one day sale site and do not need the days … maybe next version.

If you do not enter a title the CSS seems to go a bit crazy …

Anyway, thanks again love your work

Hi, the download link for the plugin is missing. It only shows the short code. Could you pls fix that. Thanks.

Is there a way to set it to an event that won’t start at 00:00?
I can only set the day of arrival, but not the hours, minutes or seconds… so this plugin is only useful for a new year day, there are very few events that starts at 00.00

    • shailan Oct 7, 2010

Hello Francesco, yes, i am going to implement this feature to the plugin with the next release. You are right about 00:00. It only works for b-days and new year.

Hi, I have a problem… I put the color codes but the counter shows white anyways… I tried to use FF008, and 000000 for background… I don’t know what I could be doing wrong… =( I’ll appreciate a lil help, thnx

    • shailan Oct 7, 2010

Hello Lore, FF008 is not a valid color. Hex colors have 6 digits. You should update colors to 000000 & FF0088. Then it should work.

Missing the option to put another countdown indside the same widget so all the countdowns stand in the same widget insted of putting more countdowns indside the side panel aslso missing countdowns in post areas it will be great there to

    • shailan Oct 18, 2010

Hello Raven, because of javascript id limitations, one widget can contain only one countdown. Why not use multiple countdown widgets?
I will soon add shortcode support for countdown widget so you can add it to your posts. Thanks for your comments & feedback.

Hi, counter looks great. Is there a way to have the background be transparent? Also, for dates which are more than a year away, are their plans to implement a “years” column? Currently my countdown has 1400+ days listed, when it could say 4 years instead. Thanks!
