Marketplace Theme Manual

Marketplace is a listing site template packed with custom widgets and plugins. Here is what you can do with this template:

Here you can set various theme options. (For now only logo url)

Listing Fields

Here you can create and edit your listing fields. Listing fields are the fields that represent specifications of your product/property. For example “Price”.

If you check “Show labels”, listing fields name will be shown as a label before your listing data. (Eg. Price : 10000$ )

Normally empty fields won’t show up on your listing page. If you select “Yes” from the “List empty Fields” that will change that behaviour.

Every listing field have 4 parts:

  1. Name : field name that will also show as a label on your product/listing page. (Eg. “Price”)
  2. Default : default value that will be written to the input when you are adding a new item. (Eg. “0″ or “No price”)
  3. Before : html tag or any text you want to display before the item. ( Eg. <img src=”dollar.png” width=”16″ height=”16″ />)
  4. After : html tag or any text you want to display after the item. (Eg. “$” or “€” )

NOTE: Every field has their own save button. Options save button won’t save field changes.

After you edit & save all your fields now you are ready to add your products / properties.

Search Fields

On this page you can create and edit search presets. A search preset can be used when you add a Product Search widget to your sidebar. You can create as many To add a search field simply click “Add field” link at the bottom of the fields. Here are the main parts of a field:

  • Label : Label of the search field. This could be anything and won’t affect what it searches for.
  • Config :
    • Data type : Select what kind of data you will be searching. (Eg. For listing fields select “Custom Field”. )
    • Data field : Select what field we will be searching. (Eg. For listing field Price select “Price”. )
    • Widget : This defines how visitors can search; type in, select from a dropdown or a set of radio options? (Eg. Select “dropdown” for a list of prices. )
    • Compare method : This defines how engine will compare posts that match your filter. If you want posts between a range select range.
    • Dropdown/Radio options : You can add as much options as you like with commas between values . (Eg. “10-20, 20-30, 30-40)
    • Numeric checkbox : Check this if your field is a numeric value.

After you add all your fields click save changes.

Widgets

Marketplace comes with a few bundled widgets that make your site editing easier. Those widgets allow you to promote your products/properties on your site. You can use as many of them as you like.

Marketplace Banner Widget

Banner widget allows you to add a static banner link to your sidebar. To add a banner to one of your widget areas simply drag and drop that widget to the area. Options for the widget are:

  • Image URL : URL of the image to be displayed. (Eg. “http://shailan.com/my_banner.jpg”)
  • Link : URL of the target site or page. (Eg. “http://shailan.com”)

Remember to click save after you set options.

Banners get their width and height from the sidebars automatically. Those size values are:

  • Header : 600×90 pixels
  • Header Banners : 235×70 pixels
  • Sidebar-Left : 235×70 pixels

This widget lists photos of the products in the featured category. All featured posts must be in a specific category. To add a featured products widget simply drag and drop the widget to appropriate widget area. Options for the widget are:

  • Title : Title of widget to be displayed. (Eg.  ”My featured products” )
  • Category : Category for the featured products. (Eg. “Special”)
  • Number of items : Defines number of products / properties that will be listed.

Remember to click save after you set options.

If you don’t see anything on your page, or an error message telling “No posts found in category: … “,  please double check if the category you entered matches your category name.

Marketplace Random Products Widget

This widget displays products/properties from random categories. To add this widget simply drag and drop the widget to the widget area. Options for the widget are:

  • Title : Title of widget to be displayed. (Eg.  ”Randomization” )
  • Number of items : Defines number of products / properties that will be listed.

Remember to click save after you set options.

Marketplace Product Search Widget

This widget allows you to add a custom search widget to your site. This search is fully customizable from the “Search Fields” options page. To add the widget simply drag and drop the widget to the widget area. You can change the title of the widget. You can select from presets you defined on “Search Fields” page or you can create a custom preset for that widget. Remember to click save after you set options.

    i just want » Marketplace Featured Products Widget because i deleted by mistake

    in control panel the mp_featured_products.php is empty.

    please help
